Paying for The Maktab App

Plans are priced per student in tiers of 50 (see pricing), paid by card as a subscription - monthly, or yearly at the discounted rate. Payment is taken when you subscribe. Every new subscription carries a 30-day money-back guarantee: cancel within 30 days of first payment and we refund it in full, no questions asked.

Growing and shrinking - how tier changes work

Your plan covers a stated number of students. These rules are applied automatically and you agree to them when you subscribe:

• Moving up. When your enrolled students stay above your plan’s size for 7 consecutive days, your plan moves up to the tier that covers them and the difference for the remainder of your billing period is charged to your payment method immediately, pro-rata. You’ll see a notice in your portal throughout those 7 days before anything is billed. A brief dip above the line that comes back down within the 7 days changes nothing.
• Moving down. If your enrolment falls, the lower price applies from your next renewal. Mid-period reductions are not refunded or credited. If something exceptional happens to your enrolment, contact us and we’ll adjust your plan manually.
• No payment method. If your enrolment grows past your plan and there is no working payment method after the 7-day notice period, you get a further 5 days of warnings in your portal, after which access is paused until billing is set up. Your data is never deleted because of a billing pause.
• Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, we retry and warn the owner in their portal. If it is still unpaid after 14 days, access is paused for everyone except the owner, who keeps access to update the payment method - everything reopens automatically once billing is brought up to date. Your data is never deleted because of a failed payment.

Cancel from the admin portal at any time and billing stops at the end of the current period. Your data stays exportable for 30 days after cancellation.

Acceptable use

The Maktab App is for legitimate use by Islamic supplementary schools and the families they serve. Don’t use the platform to collect data unrelated to education, harass users, or attempt to compromise security. We may suspend accounts that breach these terms.

Liability

We provide The Maktab App “as is” and aim for 99.9% uptime. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability for any indirect or consequential losses is excluded. Direct losses are capped at 12 months of fees you’ve paid us.
