How does the pricing actually work?
It's linear, in steps of 50 students. Every student costs the same - 18p a month on the yearly plan, 24p on monthly - and your price is simply your tier times the rate. So 50 students is £9/m yearly, 500 is £90/m, 1,000 is £180/m. The rate is identical at every size.
Is there a contract?
Monthly plans roll month-to-month - cancel any time. Annual plans run for 12 months at the discounted rate. Your data is exportable either way.
How does the annual discount work?
Pay yearly up front and you save 25% - the rate drops from 24p to 18p per student per month. You can switch from monthly to yearly at any renewal.
What happens if we grow mid-year?
Your plan moves up to the tier that covers you, automatically. You'll see a notice in your portal for 7 days first, then the difference for the rest of your billing period is billed pro-rata - no forms, no phone call. A brief blip over the line that settles back within the 7 days changes nothing.
And if our numbers go down?
The lower price applies from your next renewal - we don't chop and change mid-period. If something exceptional happens to your enrolment, contact us and we'll adjust your plan manually.
Can we try it first?
Every plan comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. Pay, use it properly with your real classes, and if it's not right cancel within 30 days for a full refund.
What about multi-site or 2,000+ students?
Same per-student rate, but we'll wrap a custom rollout, training plan and dedicated support around it. Drop us a message and we'll shape something around how you actually run.
Can we use it during Ramadan term changes?
Yes. Term shapes are configurable per Maktab - set your weekend, evening, or after-school pattern however it actually runs.
What about multi-child families?
Built in. One parent account links to all their children. Agreements and balances roll up per family.
Where is the data hosted?
Within the UK / EU on Cloudflare and Neon. GDPR-aligned. We never sell or train AI models on your data.
Do you do training?
Yes - onboarding call is included on annual plans, and we'll do bespoke sessions for multi-site rollouts. Most teachers are productive within an hour.
Will it work on old phones?
Yes. The Maktab App is a web app, mobile-first, runs on any phone with a modern browser. No install needed.
